Description

This refresher course will review the basic mechanisms of MH, and detail the procedures involved with screening possible MH susceptible patients for ambulatory anesthesia, as well as describing the protocols when a patient develops MH in the ambulatory setting; more info.

Session Learning Objectives

  1. List diseases associated with susceptibility to malignant hyperthermia;
  2. Describe how to prepare the operating room for an MH susceptible patient;
  3. Describe the protocol for treating and transferring a patient with MH.
  4. Describe how to counsel families for diagnostic testing for MH susceptibility.
