What can be more “heart stopping” than experiencing your patient or your family member going through an unexpected MH crisis? As a family member, you sit on pins and needles hoping for a safe outcome. As a medical professional, you can’t panic and need to remain calm when the heat of a crisis is all around you!
MHAUS is asking for your help to take the “scary” out of an MH event!
Our Board of Directors contribute 100% to the MHAUS mission – we need your support as well to save future lives from the devastation of MH!
MHAUS educates medical professionals to quickly recognize and treat an MH event! We provide MH susceptible patients and their family MH resources to understand and share with their healthcare providers and others.
MHAUS Accomplishments over the past year:
Integrated the MHAUS website branding into revised MH posters and MH educational resources that use them.
A clear path to psychiatric experts for insight and help when MH Hotline Consultants receive calls that lend themselves to possible psychiatric situations which tend to look like MH.
Promoted the MH Prep Check Program, which brings an MH expert on-site to observe a facility’s mock drill, provide constructive feedback, and assess the team’s overall MH readiness.
Became an affiliated organization of the ASA which will enhance the scope of our mission and impact through their expanded audience contacts.
Some of Our Goals for the Coming Year:
Encourage responses from MH Hotline callers to bolster MH research material housed in the Registry.
Find a way to help families more easily understand MH genetic testing to determine the best next steps for their personal family situation.
Share recent published articles written by our MH experts on our website for researchers.
Provide new video presentations on Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome, Tardive Dyskinesia and Catatonia.
Update educational materials, such as the MH Procedure Manuals, to align with the MH Poster and website.
Day-to-day Operations of MHAUS Include:
Order fulfillment and follow up for customers - MH Hotline coordination - MH material updates - Finding answers to questions received at MHAUS via phone and email both personally or from our MH experts - General management of a multitude of tasks to provide resources for MH education, research and guidance – coordinate members’ benefits.
