John Capacchione has been engaged in malignant hyperthermia diagnostic testing and research for the last 12 years. He was the Director of the MH Testing Center in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. Recently, he moved to the University of Minnesota, another MH Testing Center, to continue his research in MH and other related disorders, such as heat stroke.         Dr. Capacchione is considered an expert on the adverse effect of heat and exercise in relation to MH Susceptibility.

Lydia Friedman became a volunteer for MHAUS 30 years ago when her daughter had an MH episode during tonsil surgery. After her daughter had tested positive for MH, she realized how much of a need there was for someone to help other families like hers deal with health insurance, life insurance, and navigating the medical field. Lydia guides those with MH susceptibility though this process and answers any questions that they may have.
