In Loving Memory of Stephanie Jude Kuleba for the Awareness of MH
On March 22nd, 2008 our beautiful daughter Stephanie Jude Kuleba succumbed to a rare genetic disorder called Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) while undergoing a routine surgical procedure. Stephanie Jude was a pretty, bright, enthusiastic young adult with dreams and high aspirations for her life. She accomplished so much and had inspired so many people for the 18 years she was with us. This tragedy has brought unimaginable grief for her family, friends, and even people that never met her. As a family, we are trying to come to terms with our horrific loss while trying to understand any reasons why this tragedy happened. We believe that something positive must come from the loss of Stephanie’s life. Through our terrible experience, our family is determined to create awareness about MH as well as educate people surrounding choices regarding anesthetics and surgical settings. Much will be told regarding the voids and inadequacies of the current system regarding certain Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASC's), and how physicians’ decisions regarding profit are compromising patient safety. Please take the time to learn about Stephanie Jude by clicking the link below and the resources of this site as it is for your benefit to learn from our experience.
